Ghouls, witches, vampires and pillowcases full of candy. When you think of these words, you may also be thinking of October 31. Around this time of year, people young and old celebrate the year’s spookiest season. At Fairfax High School, both students and staff in costume add to the spine-chilling atmosphere of Halloween.

Who are you guys dressed up as?

“We’re dressed as the White Rabbit and Alice in Wonderland.”

Why did you choose this costume?

“It was a good last minute costume inspired by Alice in Wonderland.”

Did you make your costume?

“We both pulled our costumes out of our closets.”

What are your plans for Halloween?

“Stay at home and hand candy out and watch movies.”

What are you dressed up as for Halloween?

“I am Izaya from an anime called Durarara.”

What inspired you to dress up as them?

“He’s hilarious. He’s this slick character that seems kinda like, illegal. I don’t know what to call him. He’s a cool person I guess, but not because he’s illegal. He’s an information broker.”

Did you make your costume or buy it from a store?

“I made it. I bought a jacket and sewed some fluff onto it.”

What are you plans for Halloween?

“I want to go to an anime convention.”

“The Mad Hatter.”

What inspired you to dress up?

“It’s [Alice in Wonderland] my favorite book and story, and movie, and everything.”

Did you make your costume?

“No, I bought it online.”

What are your plans for Halloween?

“I’m working all day at IHOP. Come visit me!”

“This isn’t an actual thing, it’s just a random cosplay I put together from the beginning of this week.”

Did you make or buy it?

“I bought the parts separately. I bought the wig online, the cloak from the Renaissance fair and the dress underneath just from the mall.”

What are your plans for Halloween?

“I’m planning to go to the mall dressed in my costume with a few friends of mine and we’re just going to hang out afterwards and hand out candy.”

“My friend let me borrow it.”

Why did you dress up as this character?

“I didn’t. My friend had it on just now and I asked if I could wear it and he said alright.”

“I’m going to a party.”
